National Landscape Conference
Earlier in July our team headed to the National Landscapes conference in Winchester, this was a fantastic opportunity to work collaboratively with other National Landscape teams in addressing the key question, are National Landscapes “Fit for the Future?”.
The conference explored a breadth of issues, from innovative governance models that enhance community engagement and stewardship to climate adaptation and the integration of green energy solutions. Keynote speakers discussed how we can amplify youth voices and empower the next generation to contribute to the enhancement of our landscapes, while in the workshops the conversation extended to green finance, with funding mechanisms that prioritise ecological integrity and resilience being explored.
To complete the conference our team was able to visit first hand other National Landscapes, gaining an insight into the innovative and unique projects taking place in each. Between them the Solway Coast Team visited Chichester Harbour, the Surry Downs and the Isle of White National Landscapes.
